Biblical Teaching on Suffering
All suffering in time is designed for your blessing. It rarely seems like it while in the suffering, but God promises in His Word that He will work all things together for good - and that means your blessing. Suffering, whether deserved or undeserved, does not seem to be joyful at the time, but the comfort of the Holy Spirit guides our eyes and focus to heaven where there will be no more tears or sorrow.
Jesus said there would troubles on earth John 16:33. The focus of the believer ought not to be on avoiding suffering, but relying upon His power through suffering so that God is exalted in the believer's life for the sustaining power through suffering.
Jesus is the one who strengthens us through any challenge Phil. 4:13
He is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we can imagine Eph. 3:20-21
He could have avoided suffering Himself, but He endured it for our sake Heb. 12:2 and therefore He is our model of enduring through suffering for the sake of the Lord and others Heb. 12:3
As we suffer, God wants us to find His consolation in Christ.
The sufferings in time are not to be compared to the glories to come in heaven Rom. 8:18.
God calls our afflictions light compared to what the unbeliever will face 2 Cor. 4:15-18
The sufferings of those who reject God will be eternal 2 Thess. 2:7-9

God's purpose is for greater glory in eternity 2 Thes. 2:14
There will be glory revealed with Christ in eternity 1 Pet. 4:13

We have a choice when we suffer. We can either run and avoid it or we can endure it in His power and His purpose. If we run or avoid the suffering, we will grow weaker, because God's suffering is designed to make us stronger. If we endure the suffering, then we'll grow stronger, because of our dependency on God. It's not the way man thinks or acts. That's why man always gets weaker rather than stronger. Peter says it so well, “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” 1 Peter 5:10
